Each year the EOS Alliance supports a Sustainability Team. This team is made up of 12 AmeriCorps members from around the country, all brought together by their passion for the environment. Throughout their 10 month term, these individuals work both with the EOS Alliance and outside organizations to help the green initiative. This is primarily accomplished through education, volunteerism, and habitat restoration.
Environmental Education:
The Sustainability Team works closely with middle schools around Issaquah through after school programs and other initiatives to help youth understand their impact on the world and to help them make more environmentally sound choices. The Sustainability team also creates workshops for people of all ages, ranging in scope from cheese making to bird watching. These programs are open to everyone in the greater Seattle area, are modestly priced, and full of information.

Habitat Restoration:
The EOS Alliance has adopted the Maple School Natural Area in Beacon Hill. The Sustainability Team holds monthly work parties at the site, as well as hosting company work parties and school volunteering events.
EOS Partners:
The EOS Alliance's Sustainability Team partners with outside organizations in the Seattle regions. Through these joint efforts, we are able to reach more people and have more impact on the environment around us. Among others, our team has worked with the YMCA, Seattle Tilth, the Issaquah school district, and the Issaquah Hatchery.
If your organization has need of volunteers, please contact Calvin Gloe, Sustainability Director.
Community Engagement:
The Sustainability team strives to engage communities and promote community initiatives. One recent example is our work in Columbia City to help create a Climate Co-op.
City Involvement:
The Sustainability Team has also partnered with the City of Issaquah, more specifically with the Resource Conservation Office. Through this partnership we are working toward creating greater environmental awareness in Issaquah.
